

George Hudson Henry passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the age of 91 in Leander, Texas. He was born on January 25, 1934, in Cow Creek, Texas, to Raymond and Iva Henry. On August 28, 1953, George married Elizabeth “Jane” Henry.
George graduated from Marble Falls High School and served in the United States Army and the National Guard Reserves, stationed in Kentucky and Iceland. After his military service, he was employed with Frito Lay before beginning a 35-year career with the Texas State Treasury Department, from which he retired while residing in Austin, Texas. After retirement, George and Jane moved to Liberty Hill, Texas, where they enjoyed their life together. He was a member of the Liberty Hill Church of Christ and the Smithwick Church of Christ, and he served many years as President of the Smithwick Cemetery Association.
George loved hunting, raising cattle and goats, and spending time with his dogs. He enjoyed many hours riding his 4-wheeler and ATV and had a passion for anything with wheels and a motor. He was always ready to watch a good Western or a car race with the volume extremely loud, often with his loyal dog(s) by his side.
George is survived by his two daughters, Raena Henry (Chuck Statler) and Tracy (Allan) Floyd; four grandchildren, Dalton Henry (Amber Limon), Grayson (Olivia) Floyd, Waylon (Jayla) Henry, and Charlsie Floyd (Dalton Fisher); three wild great-grandchildren, River Hudson Henry, Ox Flynn Floyd, and Ras Walker Floyd; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth Jane Henry; his parents, Raymond and Iva Henry; his sisters, Ramona Herrin, Leonora “Snookie” McCray, and Minnie “Jackie” Sherman; and his brother, Edmond “Eddie” Henry.
Graveside services will be held at Smithwick Cemetery on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
