Henry Alvin Carroll, 90, of Round Rock, TX, passed away in his home at Doublecreek Assisted Living community on May 12, 2022.

Henry Alvin Carroll was born in Clark County, KY to William Francis Carroll and Elizabeth Vernon Collins on September 23, 1931, and grew up in Paris, KY. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Navy, where he served during the Korean War. Upon returning, he attended the University of Kentucky, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Henry married Joan Janis Carroll on April 14, 1956, and began working at IBM. They lived in Lexington, KY, where their four children were born, before moving to Austin, TX in 1967. He continued working for IBM throughout his career, becoming treasurer of the IBM Federal Credit Union, now known as Amplify.
In retirement, Henry and Joan bought a camper and traveled around the country, where he picked up photography as a hobby. They eventually settled in the Delaware Springs community in Burnet, TX. He was a life-long devoted University of Kentucky basketball fan. He also enjoyed working with his hands: fixing things up around the house, tending to the yard, working on cars, and building DaVinci models. He volunteered weekly at LACare, a Burnet organization that serves people with food insecurity. He also enjoyed Bingo, walking around the neighborhood, researching family genealogy, and playing pool. Henry was an active church member throughout his life, serving on various committees.
After the death of his wife, Henry moved to Doublecreek Assisted Living in Round Rock, TX, where he spent his remaining years closer to his children. Henry was a humble, gentle, and kind man, who was beloved by his family, friends, and caregivers.
Henry is predeceased by his wife, Joan; he is survived by his children, Frank Bruce Carroll and his wife Kim, Daniel Parker Carroll and his wife Sophia, Elizabeth “Libby” Janice Martinez and her husband Johnny, and Mary Ann Miller and her husband Brad; and his beloved grandchildren: Amy Elizabeth Martinez, Jonathan Douglas Martinez and his wife, Sarah, Kendall Denise Carroll, and Jordan Elizabeth Miller, and his great-grandson, Max Martinez.
