Hubert Frank Hyman, 88, passed away while resting peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 6:05 a.m. He was born in Burnet County, Texas on May 12, 1933 to Clara Opal and Lewis Car Hyman.
At the age of 18, he married his wife of almost 68 years, Dorothy Mae Hopkins. He is survived by his children, Wendy Davis and husband Jim, Cindy Davis and husband Mike, Jeany Jenkins and husband Bobby, Dotty Knauth and husband Doug, and Jon Hyman and wife Karen, his sister Sharon Montgomery and her husband, Charles, brother-in-law Vic Cearley, his sister-in-law, Linda Cowan, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Hubert was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, his parents, his brothers, Douglas Hyman and William Hyman, and sisters, LaVera Cearley and Maxciene Veronie. Hubert was also known as Daddy, Pa, and Uncle Hubert by family. He worked in the construction industry his whole life and was also a bi-vocational preacher for many years. His approach to these roles could be summed up in two words – loving servant.
The family will greet friends for visitation on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet burial to follow at Oatmeal Cemetery. Hubert was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
