Irma Pfleiderer died peacefully in her home May 31, 2026, at the age of 96 after a brief illness.
She was born March, 24, 1930, on the family farm outside of Rush Springs, Oklahoma to Edward and Edna Hooper. She married young and moved to Lake Jackson, Texas where her husband, John Marshall, worked for Dow Chemical Company and she became a homemaker and raised three boys before joining the workforce as a seamstress and eventually managing a fabric store.
She married Karl Pfleiderer in 1974 and they were inseparable in all their undertakings. In 1977 they returned to Oklahoma to be nearer their aging parents. They owned and operated a hardware store and Tag Agency in Fletcher, Oklahoma for several years and eventually sold it to pursue other interests. They spent many years making and selling craft items that he would build and she would paint. She also kept to her sewing roots and produced many quilts over the years.
In 2000 they moved to Burnet, Texas to be nearer to their children and grandchildren with whom they enjoyed many happy times. They continued their crafting hobbies and she maintained a booth in a local market until 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Karl, two brothers, two sons and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, John Marshall, Larry (Sarita) Marshall, James (Laura) Pfleiderer, Charlene (Ted) Drenner and Mary (Scott) Moore; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family wishes to thank the many people who have provided their friendship and support making her golden years truly golden.
Funeral service for Irma June will be held at 11 am Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Burnet. A graveside service and burial will take place at 1 pm Thursday, June 11 at the Fletcher Cemetery in Fletcher, Oklahoma.
