

Jack Neil Kenyon, cowboy, reached the trail’s end December 24, 2011, in Buchanan Dam, Texas, and crossed over. Awaiting him were his beloved dogs Dobie, Woody, and Mosca. These loyal companions frequently traveled with Jack in his Ford pickup trucks.
Jack was born to Harold Albert Kenyon and Lila Grace Zilsdorf Kenyon June 3, 1932, at St. Charles, Illinois. Jack grew up in the Maple Park, Illinois, area and learned the cattle business. Jack summered his beef cattle in Iowa County by Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
Jack served in the 728th Military Police Battalion at Korea from 1953-1954. In later years, he enjoyed seeing his comrades at service reunions. He enjoyed flying helicopters, airplanes, and sea planes.
Jack married Jane Write Harris February 14, 1986. Their first date was at the Lampasas Drugstore in Lampasas, Texas, in 1955. They drank Coca Cola.
Jack is survived by his wife Jane. He also is survived by his children Jaye Kenyon (John Kuker) of Fredericksburg, Texas; Judy (Gregg) Bennett of Mineral Point, Wisconsin; Lee (Diane) Kenyon of Wimberley, Texas; Jackie Kenyon of Elgin; Sonia Stewart of Harker Heights, Texas; Rachel (Martin) Henry of Burnet, Texas; Regina (Ronnie) Brown of Lampasas, Texas; and Rhonda (Randy) Blanton of Potosi, Texas. Jack also is survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and lifelong best friend Nolan Green. Jack was preceded in death by his first wife Julie Marie Fernekes Kenyon on October 30, 1985.
Graveside services were December 26, 2011, at Nix Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. near Lampasas.
