He was born in Burnet, TX on December 19, 1933 to Charlie and Rita Ross.
Jerry very proudly graduated from Burnet High School in 1951. He was an avid football and baseball player for the Burnet Bulldogs. He could recite the High School anthem his whole life and was very proud of it. Soon after high school, he joined the United States Army and very proudly served his country from 1956 to 1962. After the military, he moved to Houston where he started his own radiator company and married the love of his life Thelma on April 5, 1968. Together they moved back to Burnet and built their home in 1974. Jerry was well known and retired from Hoover's Building Supply in 1998. After he retired, he enjoyed his retirement taking care of his ranch attending to his cattle and horses. He also enjoyed writing and singing gospel songs in his free time, and enjoyed playing the guitar.
Jerry/ Grandad will forever be missed, as he was very important to all of his grandchildren. His home was their home for many years and shared a lot of very precious memories with each and every one of them throughout the years.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Nancy Ross, grandchildren Jerry J. Ross, Melissa McCray, Chelsea Ross, Josh Slusser, Lindsey Slusser, Kaleb Ross, Shelby Ross, Kelsey Barta and Landa Hamilton.
He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
Jerry is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Charles and Rita Ross, his sister Doris Ross, sons Mike Ross and Wayne Ross.
Visitation will be held at Clements-Wilcox funeral home from 6-8 pm Tuesday April 14, 2020, graveside service will be held Wednesday April 15, 2020 at 2 pm at Burnet City Cemetery.
Care has been entrusted to Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet.
