After graduating from Burnet High School in 1965, Jimmy worked as a ranch hand cowboy and attended welding school. He then became a pumper in the oil fields.
Jimmy enjoyed building and repairing things with his hands. He loved to hunt and be outdoors.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie B. and Reba Johnston Lastly and a sister Emma Jo Handley. He is survived by two sons Ben and John Mark, brothers Tommy and wife Pat Lastly, Rex and wife Amanda Lastly, John and wife Lori Lastly, and a sister Connie and husband James Wofford; all of Burnet.
A graveside service will be held at Pebble Mound Cemetery on Thursday October 21, 2021 at 10:00 am.
