John Michael Mullen

We are sad to announce the passing of John M. Mullen of Burnet, TX. He died at age 75 on September 18, 2023. John passed away surrounded by his loved ones after a long illness. John is survived by his wife Lizz, and their children Jessica Mullen (and wife Kelly), Kerri Thompson (and husband Mark), Michael Mullen (and wife Liz) and Kelly Nicholson (and husband Andrew), as well as three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Esther, his father Robert, and sisters Pat and Kathy.

John was an intense character, who loved puns, racquetball, swimming, and his family. His presence filled any room he entered. He was likely to strike up conversations with strangers and bring a smile to their faces. John was fiercely devoted to his law practice in Libertyville, IL, and later enjoyed a happy retirement with his wife in the Texas Hill Country.

The memorial service will be a private ceremony.
