John,Mr. Reyes as I knew him, but always preferred to be called J.J.,was a wonderful sweet man who shared his music and stories with me, our visits were special and he always hated when I would have to leave,we could talk for hours, for he knew me since I was a teenager, walking home from the oatmeal festival, cause my friends and I just had to go, and he picked us up half way between Bertram and Burnet, to give us a ride, in one of his many old trucks, since than I've had the pleasure to meet his children and rest of his family, was a very kind hearted man, with a smile that would warm any heart, I'll greatly miss this sweet man who became a good friend,My deepest condolences to all his family,Fly high and Rest in Peace J.J.

John and I worked at Parker Electronics in Bertram in '74. I was Program Director at KHLB Radio in Burnet when I hired John to work part-time. I gave him the on-air name of JJ Reyes, and it stuck for the rest of his life. JJ later joined me in my music disco business where we played at the Starlight Lounge at Lake Buchannan. I joined Johns Band and played drums with JJ and Ted at venues around the area. John eventually took over the disco business when I went to KOKE-FM in Austin. John and I became brothers and John and Ted's mom, Mama Reyes, sort of adopted me as one of her kids. I love you my brother. A big part of me is gone with you. I know you and Tommy will be waiting at the gate when I get there.
