John Singletary - July 9, 1959 - February 10, 2015 "For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:6-8. John asked for this to be posted after he passed. “John came to live with us shortly after he received Christ. He had these big, old army boots. I have this vivid memory of him stomping around with those boots praying in the spirit and everyone shouting at him to take his boots off! John always had his own unique way of doing things! We did street ministry in the evenings and our home was filled with street people, alcoholics, prostitutes, etc. We fed so many people and John taught me how to make the best spaghetti sauce using dried rosemary. Bill often teases me that when he met me I had my own "intercessor." That was John, he made a promise to me to always pray for me and then later for Bill and I as we entered into out missions call.
I also remember the first time I met you Terra. John was so excited for us to meet you and I remember you both walking up to our house and the grin John had on his face. I remember that smile when he put Eric in our arms for the first time. Our many travels haven't left us with much time to visit over the last years but you both have always held a very special place in our hearts. John was the first person I led to Christ and the first to tell me that he promised to always pray for me and the ministry God would eventually give to me.
Terra, thank you for letting me know that even at the end of his life, he was faithful to that promise. I love you dear friend, and I promise to keep praying for you and Eric. If there are army boots in heaven I am sure the angels are shouting for John to take them off!”
