Kathy grew up in the Burnet area, graduating from Bertram High School in 1966. During her high school years, she played basketball and tennis, while also performing as a cheerleader. Upon graduating in 1966, she married Glendon Barrow and spent 58 years with the love of her life. Kathy was a dedicated wife and mother, and spent much of her young adult life attending her children’s sporting events, planning family BBQs, and doing all she could to spend quality time at the lake.
Outside of love for her family, Kathy’s two other passions were playing volleyball and traveling. After retiring from the District Clerk’s Office, she began playing in tournaments across the United States, including playing in the World Senior Games (Go Ladybugs!!!). When not traveling for volleyball, she was planning trips with her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends to places like Costa Rica, Africa, Alaska, Brazil, Las Vegas, just to name a few.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Glendon Barrow, and her three children; Gina Mitschke (Craig), Chris Barrow (Mendy) and Jess Barrow. Along with five grandchildren, Jordan Mitschke, Cason Barrow, Coyt Barrow, Logan Mitschke and Kirstin Barrow. She is also survived by her sister, Doneti Box.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Alton and Lois Box, brothers Alton Ray and Glenn Box, and granddaughter, Destiny Barrow.
Services for Kathy will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet, Texas on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Bertram.
