

Larry Neal Hodge, age 93 Lake Victor died December 31, 2016. He was born in Lake Victor in Burnet County to George Warren and Lula Belle Adams Hodge. Larry graduated from Lampasas High School in 1942. He joined the US Navy in 1944 and served as a medic during WWII on Adak Island in the Pacific. He married Nalda Kenan Hodge at the Lake Victor Baptist Church on March 21, 1959. He was the consummate southern gentleman, educated and well read. He would willingly discuss the local rain fall along with current world events up until his passing.
Larry worked at Mathis Refrigeration in Marble Falls and later decided that ranching and farming would be his lifelong calling. His efforts provided for his family and they were awarded the 1981 Farm Family of the Year. He was also awarded various farm and ranch county recognitions.
He was an active member at the Lake Victor Masonic Lodge #1011 AF & AM for 66 years. Larry was a lifelong member of the Lake Victor Methodist Church until it’s closing, but faithfully followed his wife in attending the Lake Victor Baptist Church. He also served on the board of Farmers Mutual Insurance.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Nalda Kenan Hodge, brother Elgin Hodge and sister Faye Watt. He is survived by their son Barry D. Hodge of Burnet, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Those named as Honorary Pallbearers are Jack Field, Jason Hahn, Sturgis Jackson, Bobby Minton, Waylon Kelley, Lamar Schooley and Bill Pell.
A visitation for friends and family will be held Monday, January 2, 2017 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. A graveside service and interment will be held Tuesday, January 3 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Reverend Barry Drake officiating.
