Mary Kimbrough (Kim) Farley, of Burnet, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 24, 2014. She was born in Itta Bena, Mississippi on November 9, 1932. She was the daughter of Joe and Edith Alexander.
Kim was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women with a degree in Library Science. She began her career at Texas A&M in the Cushing Library in the catalog department. There she met the love of her life, Terry Farley who was a student at the time. After marriage in the A&M chapel in August, 1959, they moved to Spring Branch in Houston and they began their family of three children. Later she was the librarian at Long Point Baptist Church in Houston, Spring Woods Sr. High in Houston and finished her career at B.F. Terry High School in Richmond/Rosenberg.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Terry, and her three children, Laura Sanders (Kevin) of Baytown, Chris Farley (Peggy) of Willow Park, and Regina Girdner (Kevin) of Wolfforth. She also has eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A celebration service will be held on Monday, July 28 at First Baptist Church, Burnet, TX at 2:00 p.m.
