“Maxine” Houston joined her Lord and Savior on March 4, 2021 at the age of 76. Mary Maxine Houston was born February 24, 1945 in Taylor, Texas to Mary Francis Swanson and Curtis Lee Swanson. Maxine graduated from Carver High School, Georgetown, Texas in 1963. She married Frankie Ray Houston September 1968. A lifelong resident of Texas, she and Frankie settled in Burnet to raise their family. Maxine is survived by her daughter Sandra and husband Tyler Graves, son William Houston, her beloved grandson Caelin Graves and many family relatives. She was pre-deceased by her husband Frankie and her parents Mary Francis and Curtis Swanson.
Maxine spent her life, studying her bible and attending church. She cared for many as a private caregiver, took in many people in her home to raise along with her family and was a valued employee at Community Care, Inc., and the Burnet Consolidated Independent School District.
This lady never met a stranger and was known by many as a good friend, someone to go to in a time of need, the life of the party, the person that would always welcome you with open arms and listen, but would be completely truthful (whether you wanted to hear it or not), and most definitely a major Burnet Bulldog fan. She was a tiny lady with the biggest heart and tons of love to spread around. There was never a day that she wasn’t doing something for someone. She will be loved always and missed immensely by so many.
A celebration of Maxine’s life will be announced and held at a later date.
Condolences to the family may be offered to her tribute at www.clementswilcoxburnet.com
