complications from a stroke.
Nora Sosa was born on December 6, 1950 in Knox City. She grew up and went to school in O’Brien
where she was active in school activities and developed lifelong friendships in a small loving community. She was a member of Santa Rosa Catholic Church for many years which she enjoyed dearly before moving to
Burnet to be closer to her grandchildren. On July 12, 1969, she married Joe Sosa before his departure to serve in the army in the Vietnam War. Upon his return, they raised their family in Knox City.
She worked for Texas State Child Protective Services in Knox County. Nora and Joe were foster parents, a job
which was very rewarding for her. Nora’s family both immediate and extended meant the world to her. She was joyful at any family event that brought us together. Nora was also fan of Elvis Presley and his music. She and Joe saw him in concert several times. She loved receiving Elvis memorabilia gifts from family members
which she collected through the years.
Nora is preceded in death by her Father, Lupe Figueroa, Sr., mother Lola Lerma Figueroa, and younger brother Steve Figueroa, and by her mother in law Amelia Sosa.
She is survived by her husband Joe Sosa of Burnet, sons Danny Sosa of Burnet, Tony Sosa and wife Elizabeth of Round Rock, brother Lupe Figueroa, Jr. of Spicewood. Grandkids Marcus and Marissa Sosa, Eli and Tony Jr. daughter in law, Yolanda Miranda Brown of Marble Falls and many nieces and nephews who loved her.
She was also loved dearly by many aunts, uncles, cousins and god children. We thank all of you and all of our families and friends for the love and support you have given her through these last years of her illness. She was a woman of faith. She is in God’s hands, free of suffering, with her family members by her side in heaven.
