Rocky Shannon

Rocky Dean Shannon age 76 of Bertram passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025. He was born on September 23, 1949, in Austin to parents Johnny D. Shannon and Jewel Bernice Shannon. Rocky grew up in Austin and moved to Bertram with his family in 1966.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sarah “Adene” Noah Shannon of Bertram, son and daughter-in-law Gaylon and Tina Shannon of Burnet, grandson Case Damon Collier of Bertram and granddaughter Chloe Jewel Shannon of Burnet; 1 brother and 5 sisters Shane Shannon, Lynda Pogue, Cassie Davidson, Toni Moya, Nikki Porras, and Patty Shannon. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Rocky was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Denise Shannon Collier, his parents John D and Bernice Shannon brothers Johnny Dell Shannon, David Roy Shannon, Billy Ray Shannon sisters Bonnie Lou Shannon, Emily Jewel Shannon, Rachel Ann Shannon Shaw, and Mona Margaret Shannon Mitchell.

Rocky was a twelvth generation Shannon that migrated from Ireland and he was proud to be a Texan. Rocky was a carpenter by trade built houses and did remodel work. His hobbies were drag racing, playing golf, and going to horse races. He also enjoyed fishing and having family and friends over.

The visitation for Rocky will be held on Monday November 17 from 5pm -7pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 18 at the First Baptist Church in Bertram with Reverend Gordon Bergstrom officiating.

Those named pallbearers were Garland Phillips, AJ Hays, David Donica, DeWayne McCurry, Kenneth Noah, Gannon Noah, Chris Morosko, and Chad Collier. Honorary pallbearer Royce Arhlett.
