

Ron McMinimy, 70, passed away December 20th, 2012, at his residence outside of Burnet after a short battle with cancer. A memorial service in memory of Ron and in celebration of his life will be held at his home on Saturday, January 12th. The time of the memorial service is still pending at this time.
Ronald McMinimy was born December 20, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas to Fred and Nila McMinimy. He lived a full life. After graduating High School in California he joined the Marine Corp in 1966 and did a stint at Vietnam in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1968. He joined the Costa Mesa fire department in 1968 and retired 2005 as a captain, which fulfilled his long time dream of being a fireman. After retirement he moved to Burnet to be close to his family. Ron was involved with the Lake Area Rods and Classics Car Club in Burnet and the Marine Corp League in Temple, Texas.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard McMinimy, and grandparents. Survivors include his son Ryan McMinimy of Burnet; two sisters Mary Hamel of Copperas Cove and Nancy Aldridge of Ohio. He is also survived by five nieces, five nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews, one uncle, three aunts, and numerous cousins.
