She was born on December 1, 1926, in Van Zandt County, TX to George Ben Pitts and Minnie Ethel Watson Pitts. She spent her childhood in Canton, TX as the second oldest of six children.
On April 14, 1949, she married Wesley Eugene Holt and would go on to celebrate 65 years of marriage before his passing. She and Wes instilled their love of family into their two children, Bev and Phil, raising them in Lovington, NM. She would later move to Las Vegas, NV where she enjoyed entertaining friends and family and trying her luck in the casino. She was known as the card shark of the family, never passing up a friendly game of bridge, rummy, and many other card games. In 1983, she and Wes would purchase Shady Oaks RV Park and moved to Buchanan Dam, TX, where she loved hosting family reunions and get togethers. She loved traveling in their RV and spending summers in Ruidoso, NM. She will be remembered for her love of the Lord, the joy she had for her family, her service and ability to care for everyone around her, and her delicious desserts, which were a staple with every dinner. She relished the role of grandma, and later as a great-grandmother, GiGi. God blessed her with a fulfilling life of more than 97 years. We take joy and comfort in knowing she is with the Lord and reunited with her eternal love, Wes, and her precious daughter, Bev.
She is preceded in death by her parents: George Ben Pitts and Minnie Ethel Watson Pitts; husband, Wesley Eugene Holt; daughter, Beverly Kay Holt; brothers: JB Pitts, Billie Jack Pitts, and Robert Pitts; sister Wanda Peters; and daughter-in-law Cindy Holt.
