Verlon was born in Lampasas, Texas on May 28, 1948 to Verlon D. Reagor and Louise Boyd Reagor.
He married Alene Warwick on June 5, 1968. They had 4 sons.
Verlon was a master plumber and a licensed electrician and air conditioning technician. He started working with his father as a teenager. He started his own company, Independent Home Service, which he ran for several years.
At the time of his death, he and his brother Ken owned and operated Reagor Air Conditioning Company, which had been founded by their father, Verlon D. Reagor.
When Verlon married into the Warwick family, he had to learn to play 42. He learned to love the game and taught all his sons to love it too. Every time the family got together, there were a few games of 42 being played.
His greatest joy was being a husband, father, and grandfather. Most of his activities involved his sons.
He taught Sunday school, served as a deacon, drove the church bus, and helped at church camp for several years.
He was a Cubmaster for Pack 289 and a Scoutmaster for Troop 289. His sons have many happy memories of Scout, including ushering at University of Texas football games, canoeing and comping trips. Even the one where it was so cold they could not boil water. He was proud of all of the boys in his troop, especially those who earned the Eagle Scout award.
When the boys started band, Verlon became very involved. He attended all the band concerts and contests. And, of course followed the buses to all the out of town football games. Verlon served as treasurer and as vice president of the Burnet Band Parents Association. And everyone who attended the spring band concert in 1991 surely remembers the innovative mutes he provided the trombone section (cleaned, unused, but still plumbers plungers).
Verlon was predeceased by his parents, his brother Leonard, his nephew Gabe Reagor, his father in law Thomas Warwick, and his brother in law H.S. Whittington.
He is survived by his wife Alene, son Tommy and his wife Anissa and their daughter Nevaeh of Nacogdoches, son David of Lubbock, son Steven and his wife Rachel of Bryan, son Michael and his wife Kate and their son Nathaniel of Austin. His brother Ken of Burnet, sister Pam Lohmann-Rawlins and her husband Coley of Temple. His mother in law Lillian Warwick of Burnet, sister in law Viva Whittington of Burnet, brother in law Tom Warwick of Burnet, and brother in law Curtis Warwick and his wife Claire of Georgetown as well as numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Granite Mesa Nursing Home.
