Vic Cearley

Charles Victor Cearley “Vic” passed away peacefully at home with family on Friday, August 28th, 2026. He was born on September 28th, 1936 in Austin, Texas to Charles & Edna Cearley. He had 3 brothers, Alan, David & Richard. Vic worked for Martin Linen Services most of his life before he retired. He married the love of his life, Lavera Hyman, in 1974 and they were married for 37 years before she passed in 2011. Together they had 4 children, Gary, Kenneth, Ann & Theresa.

Vic loved deer hunting and traveling with his wife in their RV. Together they traveled all over the US. He hunted his entire life and could sit and tell (or listen) to hunting stories for hours. Even in his advanced age, he would still go on hunting adventures with his daughter & grand kids. He also loved taking care of his beautiful cherry red 1966 Chevrolet pickup truck.

As much as Vic loved his children, he especially loved his grand children and great grand children. You could often find him at baseball games, family gatherings, graduations, birthday parties, and any event that involved his family.

Vic joins in heaven his parents Charles & Edna Cearley, his wife Lavera Hyman-Cearley, his daughter Theresa Perkins, 2 grandchildren, Lewis Hyman & Casondra Schwalm and sister in law, Maxcine Veronie.

Vic is survived by his 3 children, Ann and husband MJ of Brady, Gary and wife Cheryl of Bertram, and Kenneth and wife Lori of Burnet. Also sister in law, Sharon Montgomery of Florence, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers for the service are Zane Gillaspia, Caden Gillaspia, Gannon White, Dustin White, Chad Huffman & Robert Grimm.

Vic’s visitation service is scheduled for Tuesday Sept 1st @ 6 pm and funeral service Wednesday Sept 2nd @ 10 am both @ Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Burial will be at Burnet City Cemetery.
