

Virginia L. Wootton, 86, of Burnet, Texas died September 29, 2010.
She was born May 4, 1924 to Charles and Crystal Reedy at Tonk
Valley (Young County), Texas. She graduated high school at Eliasville, Texas and attended college at North Texas State for one year before marrying Bruce E. Wootton on November 15, 1942.
She had three sons. The eldest, Bruce Jr., was born with cerebal palsy and was totally handicapped. Due to her love and nuturing care
he survived to the age of 21 despite the doctors predictions.
After his passing, she began her career as a bookkeeper working for a department store and then an insurance agency in Abilene, Texas. When her husband was transferred to Monahans, Texas, She went to work for the Texas Youth Council as a bookkeeper in Pyote, Texas. She worked for the council until her retirement in 1986.
Bruce and Virginia retired to Llano, Texas in 1986. In order to stay busy, she worked with the Llano Chamber of Commerce. She was also active with the Womens Culture Club in Llano, The First Baptist Church of Llano, and the Young at Heart Group.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006. She has lived out her remaining years with her daughter-in-law and son in Burnet, Texas while enduring Alzheimer's disease.
She is survived by a sister, Lila Maples of Graham, Texas; Joe and Edie Wootton of Burnet, Texas,; Edwin and Fran Wootton of Monahans, Texas; Grandchildren: Craig of Monahans, TX; Michelle
Rogers of Burnet, TX; Mark of Kingwood, TX; and Michael of St. Louis, MO; Great grandchildren: Leslie, Dylan, Maxwell, Madison, Alexandrea, and Micah.
Graveside funeral services held at Murray Cemetery in Murray, Texas Saturday October2, 2010 at 1 pm.
