Weldon was born in Big Spring, Texas to Edith and Virgil Clark on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1933 and passed from his earthly home Saturday, May 20, 2023 to be with his Lord and Savior after a battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Lee, Thom, parents, and Brother Norman Clark.
Weldon began his work career at age 10 selling Sunday newspapers on the street corner in Kingsville, Texas and through high school at different filling stations. While in high school he joined the U S Navy Reserve and served for 18 years. After graduating from HMK high school, he went to work for Missouri Pacific Railroad. He then decided to go to college at Texas A & I, in Kingsville, and graduated with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. Then came the job he most enjoyed. Weldon was with Trans World Airlines in Kansas City, Missouri where he stayed until retiring in 1994. With the airlines he had the pleasure of traveling all around the globe. Working for the airline brought on a desire to fly his own airplane so he got his private pilot’s license in 1965. Weldon also went back to school and received a master’s degree at Central Missouri University. On the side he bought a few acres and enjoyed raising cattle and horses.
Weldon and Dorothy moved to Delaware Springs in Burnet, Texas in 2000. Then the fun things of life came around with golf, traveling in first a 5th wheel then his favorite toy, a motor home. They had many wonderful trips with friends.
Weldon is survived by his wife: Dorothy Kenyon Clark; of almost 67 years, daughter: Jeannie, sister-in-law: Mona Kenyon, nephews and nieces: Richard Clark, Bo Kenyon (Amy), Terry Clark, Lee Anne Clark-Griffin (Stephen). Coleen Kapalski (Ron), Randi Lee (Jim) Lowery, and numerous other grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Weldon also claimed 3 girls who he called “granddaughters of the heart: Liz Nordeen, Shannon Ramm and Ashley Ramm.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Matthew Smetanick and Staff at Vitalogy Skincare and to Compassus Hospice nurses for all their care and support.
