Bill Capen, 63, passed away April 13, 2020. He was born in Big Springs, TX. Bill always said he was one of the lucky ones. He got to live out both of his childhood dreams, to be a firefighter and a cowboy. He went to high school at San Marcos High and studied Emergency Medical Service at Odessa College. Bill was a Firefighter and Paramedic for 22 years. He also worked for over 40 years as a farrier. Horses were his true love, even as his sickest; he tried to go out every day to see his babies because horses made everything better. He is survived by his horses Takoda, Matilda and Dios of Burnet, wife Sherrie Schubert of Burnet, daughters Chrystal Carr of San Saba, and Latisha and husband Curtis Eaves of Wylie, grandchildren Shelbie and husband Nathan West of Leander, Bailie Barren of Cedar Park, Matthew and Autumn Eaves of Wylie, brother Ken and wife Kriss of Dayton and sister Brenda of Seattle, WA. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Colleen Capen and grandson Jacob Eaves. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Texas Association of First Responders.
