Along with spending time with his family he enjoyed hunting, fishing and coaching little league football. He graduated from Waite High School in Toledo and joined the U.S. Army September1945 and discharged March 3, 1947. Upon returning home he met Helen, his wife of 68 years.
They moved to Texas in 1970 and later retired in Burnet in 1985. He worked part time at Longhorn Caverns and was a member of First Lutheran Church. He served on various committees and volunteered countless hours to his church, family, and LaCare.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Alma Kraft Sr., his wife Helen, and daughter Susan Brite. He is survived by his son William Kraft III, 3 grandchildren, Tyler Kraft, Tricia Brite and Travis Brite and by 8 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Burnet. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable contributions be made to the Bill and Helen Kraft memorial fund at First Lutheran Church.
