Willy Warden

August 24, 1958October 12, 2020

William Don “Willy” Warden was born August 24, 1958 in San Antonio to William Douglas Warden and Dollie Hyman Warden. Willy, as he was known to his family and friends, passed away at his home in Bertram on Monday, October 12, 2020, at age 62. Willy lived in San Antonio the first 15 years of his life, then he moved to Bertram after his Dad Doug retired from the U.S. Air Force. Willy very much loved life and loved participating in the Special Olympics Sports, especially bowling and track. Willy also had a life-long hobby and love of collecting marbles; all 20,000 of them. He loved his family and was a blessing and a joy to them. Willy will be remembered for his Warden family trait of being ornery and poking fun and playing tricks on people. Willy is survived by his Mother Dollie Warden of Bertram; sister Vickie Pierce of Burnet; brother Tommy Warden (Peggy) of Bertram; nephews Adam Warden (Vicki) of Bertram, Ethan Pierce of Burnet, niece Chloe Pierce (Matt) of Cottonwood Shores, and great-nephew Brady Trussell of Cottonwood Shores. Willy is also survived by many cousins and his many friends who he met and worked with while at Day Habilitation Workshop. Willy was preceded in death by his father Doug Warden, brother Danny Warden, and brother-in-law Gary Pierce. A funeral service for family and friends will be held at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Larry May officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Bertram. Those serving as pallbearers are Micah Thompson, Aidan Thompson, Dustin Murdock, Daniel Ferguson, Gavin Ramirez, and Ben Terrell. Memorial contributions in Willy’s memory may be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Association or to the Victory Baptist Church in Burnet. Condolences may be offered to
