Wyona Glenn Herrin was born August 24, 1932 in Uvalde, Texas to Harvey Edward Glenn and Bertha Moore Glenn. Later the family moved to Blanco and lived there several years. They moved to Austin in 1940. Wyona graduated from Austin High School in 1950. She worked in the office of Fulmore Junior High School in Austin for many years. Later she worked for Austin Community College. She was a member of the church of Christ for most of her life.
Wyona and husband Wayne Herrin lived near Oatmeal for 36 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, sister Evelyn Saul, and brother Don Glenn. Wyona is survived by her sister Peggy Guentzel of Manchaca, Texas. Also her sons Tom Bradford Ayers of Austin, and Timothy Glenn Ayers of Buda, Texas. Also her grandsons Joel Ayers of Buda; Jeremy Ayers of Portland, Texas; Timothy Ayers and wife Brooke of Buda; and Lucas Ayers and wife Meagan of Kyle, Texas. Also by five great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home on Sunday, January 9, from 3-5 p.m.
Her ashes will be placed next to Wayne’s in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery south of Killeen, Texas.
