William Howard Cummings

William was born on July 27, 1929 in Whitesboro, Oklahoma to Alanzo and Florence "Pearl" Cummings. In 1949, he married the love of his life, Betty Francis Romine, in Van Buren, Arkansas. They moved to Burney in 1955 where over the next thirty years he worked at Lorenz Lumber Company, Louisiana Pacific and Shasta Green as an Electrician.

Over the years, he loved being involved in the local Assembly of God Church. Bill was a great Pastor and also taught Sunday School for many years. He loved leading worship music and playing his guitar. His family and friends rejoice that he is with his Lord and Savior!

William is survived by his wife, Betty, their son Alan Cummings and daughters Carmon Mitchell and Reba Painter, all of Burney. In addition, he is survived by his two sisters, Margie Foster of Burney and Eula Howard of Whitesboro, Oklahoma and brother, Leon Cummings of Talihina, Oklahoma, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Word of Life Assembly of God Church, 37341 Hwy 299 E, Burney. Burial will follow at Burney Cemetery on Mountain View Road. The family would like to invite everyone to a reception to follow the services at the Word of Life Gymnasium.
