OBITUARY
Alex Michael McKenna
April 23, 1994 – December 25, 2020
Alex Michael McKenna, age 26, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 25, 2020. Alex was born April 23, 1994 in Grand Rapids. He attended Grandville High School and graduated with the class of 2012.
Alex was working as an electrician apprentice for Westmass Electric, with a goal to get his journeyman's license. He enjoyed working with his hands and learning the skilled trade. Alex had a gentle smile that made everyone feel welcome. He was witty, charismatic, humble, and kind.
He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Austin (Haley) McKenna, and Allison (Ben) McKenna; father, Michael McKenna; girlfriend, Maddie Lapp, and her daughter, Stella; grandparents Robert “Andy” and Nancy Anderson, and Fran McKenna; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Alex enjoyed taking naps, listening to podcasts, golfing, cooking, and being with friends. Alex stayed away from social media and cared more about face-to-face connection and being with the people he loved most. He was unique, down-to-earth, and was a friend to everyone.
Alex is preceded in death by his mom, Kelly Jo McKenna; aunt, Jill Anderson; uncle, Michael Bauman; and grandpa, Kenneth McKenna.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Fair Haven Ministries, 2900 Baldwin St., Hudsonville, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Alex may be directed to his siblings, Austin and Allison McKenna.
