

Amy Mansfield, born September 9, 1969, in Fremont, Michigan, passed away peacefully October 23, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Surrounded by her loved ones in her final moments, Amy’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
Amy devoted her life to education and was deeply committed to supporting students and faculty alike. Her professional journey was marked by a steadfast dedication to academic excellence and community service. She spent much of her career at Grand Rapids Community College, where she became a trusted colleague and advocate for student success. Later, she continued her impactful work at Davenport University, where her passion for helping others remained unwavering. Whether guiding students through their academic paths or assisting faculty with their goals, Amy’s presence was one of encouragement and care.
She was the beloved daughter of Ginny Mansfield and the late Jim Mansfield. Amy is survived by her daughter, Brooke Finkhouse and son, Blake Koning, who were the pride of her life. She also leaves behind her sister, Lisa Mansfield Cole, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.
Amy was loved by many—her warmth, generosity, and tireless support touched countless lives both personally and professionally. Her family will remember her as a source of strength and compassion, while colleagues and students will recall her as an inspiring figure who made a lasting difference in the educational community.
