Andrew was born in Kampen, Netherlands, on February 23, 1933, and immigrated to the United States with his parents and sister, Beth, on April 19, 1950. He spent 39 years working at Steelcase Inc., initially as a welder, then as a tool-and-die maker, and ending his career in the purchasing department. Shortly after retiring at age 59, he would spend the winter months in Florida and summer months in Michigan at Lincoln Pines; he eventually moved to Florida full-time in 2012. He loved dogs and horses, traveling, tinkering around his house, and being involved in his church. He read his Bible daily.
He was predeceased in 2013 by his wife of 40 plus years, Shirley Bosch, and his son, Andrew Paul Bosch, in 2022. He is survived by his children Pamela (Ted Nies) Bosch, Peter (Kristin) Bosch, and Patricia Dehaas; stepchildren Debra (Cal) Fredricks, Robert Dykman, and Margo (Tim) Dehaas; plus several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his daughter, Wanda (Floyd) Nowak, whom he met late in life, and Marlene Hill (and her children), who was his significant other for the past 12-plus years.
Andrew had an excellent memory, a charismatic personality, and a tremendous joy for life. He will be missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW Byron Center, MI 49315. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. David Oliver officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you honor Andrew’s memory by offering a prayer for someone who may be in need of comfort, strength, or hope.
