Anne Marie Johnson (Barrett), age 72, was born on July 25, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Ralph and Louise Barrett. She spent much of her life in Hastings, Michigan, before moving to Byron Center, Michigan in 2015.
Anne married the love of her life, Curt Johnson, on July 29, 1978. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, and serving others. Their marriage has been a beautiful example of love, devotion, and commitment for nearly five decades.
Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished her husband, Curt; son, Derek (Mindy) Johnson; and beloved grandchildren Lillian and Nolan Johnson. Anne rarely missed a game, concert, school activity, or special event. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines or sitting proudly in the audience, she loved supporting her grandchildren and celebrating their accomplishments.
Anne is also survived by her brother, Ralph (Mary) Barrett, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and members of her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Louise Barrett.
Anne dedicated more than 30 years of service to Omni Community Credit Union as a loan officer. Throughout her career she was known for her kindness, patience, and willingness to help others. She took great pride in serving her members and building lasting relationships with those she worked with over the years.
Faith played a central role in Anne's life. As a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church in Wyoming, Michigan, she faithfully served on the worship team and sang with the Mission Sisters. Sharing her love of music and her faith brought her great joy.
In her free time, Anne enjoyed reading and was a regular visitor to the library. She could often be found with a good book in hand and always looked forward to her next library visit. More than anything, Anne enjoyed spending time with family and creating memories with those she loved most.
Anne's greatest joy was being present for the people she loved. Whether attending her grandchildren's activities, serving at church, helping others through her work, or spending time with family and friends, she lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and love.
