Mary, very sorry we missed Bernie’s funeral. We kept checking M-live for the obituary but it never appeared. Just talked to Marilyn Lynema today and she said she went to the funeral.
You have our sympathy and our prayers for you and your family.

Mary and family - We extend our very deepest and sincere sympathies and condolences at this difficult time. I had not kept in close contact with the Exxel people since my own retirement, so this was a very big shock to us.
We do so wish we could attend on Saturday, but it is not possible due to our own commitments. We will hold you all in our thoughts and prayers tomorrow and the difficult days and nights yet ahead of you.

My very first day as a land surveyor was spent with Bernie, back in 1977 at Exxel Engineering. He taught me well! I have been a surveyor since then and have surveyed in many areas of the United States for the past 44 years, and still am actively surveying in California. So many good memories of my years working with Bernie.
I am very sad to hear of his passing, and my sympathy to Mary, Rod and the rest of the family.
