She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Sutter; son, Dan DeHaan; mother, Gertrude Olivier. She is survived by her children Barb Clahassey, Crystal Burnett, Kathy Hillard (Cary), Lori Wheeler, Patrick Wheeler, and Jon Sutter. Bev is also survived by her only sibling, Deb Koster (Doug).
Bev was blessed with many grandchildren, including Jen DeHaan, Brandon Clahassey, Kayla Johnson, Matthew Wheeler, Duane Carter, Rachel Nickerson, Tobias Wheeler, Sarah Leyrer, Paul Johnson, Meghan Clark, Taylor Hillard, Kodi Norman (Sutter), Tassey Handley (Scott), and Tyson Hillard (Keri). Bev also was blessed with many great-grandchildren (28). Bev was a "second mother" to family friends Laurie Glieden and Roxie Talsma.
Bev enjoyed gardening and knitting hats for premature babies and cancer patients. For many years, she engaged in online business - buying and selling items of interest. She enjoyed bowling on a league with friends, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Bev was a spiritual woman and attended Pathway Church in Byron Center.
Bev will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St., Byron Center, Michigan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23 at the funeral home, with visitation from 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Lunch will be served following the service. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pathway Church.
