Craig L. Heald

Craig was born on August 20, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Kay (Pierson) Heald and Richard “Dick” Heald. He grew up in Grand Haven and graduated from Grand Haven High School. During high school he worked at his father’s business, the local Dog ‘N Suds. He went on to enlist in the Air Force in May of 1977 and served in Mississippi. During his service, he met the love of his life, Marsha F. Kirk, in 1978 while she was working on the base as a civilian. The two were married on Thanksgiving Day of 1980.

After serving in the armed forces, Craig and Marsha moved to Michigan in 1981 to raise their family. He then worked in the furniture industry as a boiler operator from 1982 until 2015.

He was an avid and talented craftsman, hunter, and outdoorsman. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, kayaking, camping, and hunting. He was a Green Bay Packers fan and loved watching games with his kids and grandkids.

Craig was a man of great faith and conviction. He was humble and shy, but to all who knew him he was selfless, reliable, and endlessly generous with his time and expertise.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marsha F. (Kirk) Heald and parents Kay and Dick Heald.

He is survived by his children Jamie (Dave Rich) Stewart of Grand Rapids, Cory (Anna) Heald of Wyoming, and Amy Stewart of Belmont; grandchildren Calla Heald, Carter (Miranda) Heald, Joely Heald, Hunter Langwell, and Cassidy Langwell; great-grandchild, Landon Heald; siblings Rick Heald and Cindy (Ted) DeKam; several nieces and nephews; dear friend of the family Kimberly Johns; and his adoring cat of 18 years, Arlo.
