Darwin enjoyed spending time with his family, making friends with anyone he met, and his walleye fishing trips to Canada. He most notably had a very sharp mind and an eye for cards, which he played every day, and traveling all over to play! He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a lifelong member of the Wayland VFW Post #7581. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Darwin leaves behind his children Greg (Dawn) Holzgen, Gail Stein; grandchildren Lori (Arie) Roobol, Andrea (Brandy) Aldrich, Troy Aldrich; great-grandchildren Parker, SueAnn, Emma, Nolan; sisters Darlene Miller, Joan Stiltner, Judy (Mark) Etheridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Darwin was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Holzgen; parents Louis and Henrietta Holzgen; and brothers Leroy Holzgen and Verle Holzgen.
