Deanna Louise Renee Archambault Stipe, De, often times Dede, passed away in the early morning on June 16, 2025 with her children by her side. A woman of amazing talent, much love, and great wit, her smile and laughter will be missed.
Dede was born to Oscar and Mary Archambault May 18, 1946 in Flint, Michigan. The baby of the family, she was close with her brothers and sister growing up and talked often about The Music Box at Houghton Lake of which she had so many fond memories. De went to St. John Vianney Catholic School, graduated in 1964, and attended both Flint Junior College and Ferris State University.
De met her husband, John, at Flint Junior College and they married in 1967. They began their life together in Big Rapids and settled in Fenton, Michigan. They had two children, Scott and Shelly, and enjoyed being an active part of all they did, pouring much into them. From making homemade games, coaching little league teams, leading the Girl Scout troop, being their biggest sports, dance, and school fan, and simply spending time just playing with them, she helped to create a lifetime of special core memories.
De and John relocated to Caledonia in 1996 and enjoyed golfing, solving both word and jigsaw puzzles, watching sports and movies, taking rides in "Big Red," watching their grandchildren play sports and attending their events, and spending time together.
De was an extremely talented woman with many skills and hobbies. She was definitely a “Jane of all trades,” so to speak. She was quite an artist who quietly enjoyed painting, drawing, jewelry making, and especially wood carving. She loved and was gifted at playing word games, most notably Scrabble, Words with Friends, and crossword puzzles. In addition, she was amazing with a sewing machine. She was an avid golfer, played the clarinet, enjoyed reading biographies, was a huge Ferris State, Notre Dame, and Michigan fan, and enjoyed watching her “story,” General Hospital.
Professionally, over the years, De worked as a dental technician, cooked for a convalescent home, and was also a cosmetologist, doing both hair and nails. She had a beauty shop in her home for many years, named Michelle Renee’s.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John; parents Oscar and Mary Archambault; brother, Robert Archambault; sister, Pauline Miller; in-laws Louis and Frances Stipe; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Marta Stipe; nephews Jim Stipe and Steven Archambault.
She is survived by her children Scott (Jill) Stipe of Traverse City and Michelle (Marcus) Glover of Byron Center; as well as her six grandchildren Evan, Tyce, Gabrielle, Mattea, Jadyn, and Noah; brothers Ronald (Patricia) Archambault and David (Carol) Archambault; sister-in-law, Juanita; brother-in-law, Michael Miller; and many loved nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her precious Emily Sue, her sweet havapoo; and many special friends and neighbors.
