Memories of Doug brings a smile to my heart. Steelcase is where I met Doug and I instantly knew he was a good person with a big heart. Doug and his good buddy, Gary Bouwkamp, donated movies for kids in the hospital. This was a personal project of mine, and those two were always willing to help. I loved hearing about their fishing adventures. Good memories. It is sad to lose a dear friend, may the memories bring comfort to the family.

Pam, Dan, and Derick,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I always saw Doug as such a kind and gentle person. I appreciated your generosity in allowing me to stay with you when my family was away from home when I was much younger, and I appreciated always the smiles and waves from kind neighbors.
May God richly bless you with a deeper revelation of His love in this time.

.. In loving memory to a man I knew for a few short years, but left such a lasting impression ..
.. His smile, wave, and "good morning!" were the first things I would see every day at work .. that will be greatly missed .
.. I cannot say I have had the great honor of knowing him as long as many others who will miss him so dearly . But I know that for me : I've not met many men in my life who were so sincere, humble, warm, helpful, caring, kind . The type of man who would give you the shirt off his back if he thought or knew you were in need .

.. Doug, you will be so very missed by so many you touched in life .. Doug, so very loved by more people than you could have possibly known .

.. just one last "Good Morning Sir!!" ..

.. God Bless, to the entire family; and to all the others he touched in such a Blessed way in life . .. I send the best I can ..

.. Rest well my Friend .

Having been employed by Steelcase for many years, as was Doug and his brother Denny, I had the pleasure of knowing them both. As work mates they were exemplary. As men they surpass that term. Held in my heart is sorrow. Allow me to express that sorrow with an insufficient offer of sympathy, from the depth of my spirit, to everyone in Doug's family, with the strongest pouring out to his wife...and to Doug's brother Denny.
