

Betty, a.k.a. “The General,” had many passions in life which included sewing, gardening, winning at Rummikub, and especially spending time with her family and friends. She had a love and joy for music; Betty was an organist and pianist at South Wyoming United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She was the driving force behind the Kitchen Band at her church. Betty’s love for sewing began with her involvement in 4-H. Betty was a lifetime member of the Standale Garden Club of which she was president for multiple terms. She and Joe loved to travel with their friends and family. She will be missed.
She is survived by her children Debby (Mike) Nelson, Mike (Jean) Mucha, Rose Mucha, Jeff Mucha, Janis (Jaap) Bosmeijer; grandchildren Ryan, Colin, Kristin, Jordan, Kyle, Lindsey, Matt, Mark, Stephanie, Jake, Jeff, Nikki, Katrina, Ira, Marijke, Ian, Kelsey, Hayleigh; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Dewey (Kay) Wobma; sister-in-law, Sue Wobma; and many extended family and friends. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mucha; son, Frank Mucha; and daughter-in-law, Michelle Mucha.
Funeral services celebrating Betty’s life will be held 12 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 at Cook Funeral Home (Byron Center Chapel), 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315, with visitation from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
