Gow G. Ramjeet

Dr. Gow (John) G. Ramjeet passed away peacefully August 30, 2025. John was born March 31, 1935 to Ghosai Ramjeet and Rupdai Ramjeet. He was born and raised in British Guyana. John was the 11th child of 14.

He moved to England where he obtained his degree in public health. There he met the love of his life, Pearl Williams. They married July 24, 1956 while he was still in school and Pearl was studying to be a nurse. Together, they shared 69 beautiful years filled with family, faith, and travel.

After nine years in England, John and Pearl moved to Lowell, MI where he obtained his PhD in public health. He was involved in many business ventures.

John was a kind and selfless man, always eager to help others. John and Pearl traveled extensively and enjoyed seeing the world. John had a passion for the latest technology and kept up current affairs. From 1985 until recently, John and Pearl had made their home in Tampa, Florida.

John is survived by his wife, Pearl; sisters Essardai, Normadai, and Nellie; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315, with a celebration service following at 11 a.m. Interment is at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery at 2 p.m. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their guestbook online.
