

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Franklin Stuitje; infant son, Douglas J. Stuitje; son, Douglas Lee Stuitje; and grandson, Andy Stuitje. She is survived by her children Robert (Pat) Stuitje and Linda (Ed) Bueche; daughter-in-law, Lynn Greer; grandchildren Brian (Amy) Stuitje, Jamie (Kirk) Bart, Kyle Bueche, and Stephanie Bueche; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mae was also preceded in death by her second husband, Donald Schreur. She is survived by Don’s children Dennis (Nancy) Schreur, Kenneth Schreur, Steve (Judy) Schreur; daughter-in-law, Carla Schreur; grandchildren Kimberly (Jeff) Barr, Andrew (Tara) Schreur, Peter (Annie) Schreur, Karen (Todd) Hoekstra, Jennifer (Dan) Cary, Kara (Glen) Fraser, Kristen Schreur; Derek (Michelle) Schreur, Natalie (Tyce) Tanner, Nicole (Jake) DeHaan; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mae had an unconditional love for her family and was blessed to have shared life and love with both Frank and Don. Mae loved to garden in her early years, was active in her church and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026 at Cook Funeral Home - Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 28 at First Byron CRC, 8541 Byron Center Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Mae will be laid to rest at Winchester Cemetery in Byron Center, MI.
