

James (Jim) loved Jesus and was a faithful servant. He is remembered for his amazing kindness, grace, and generosity. He held a long career in local banking, had a deep love for his wife Joyce, and his family. He loved boating and DIY projects. Jim devoted several years to volunteering with the Lions Club, Kiwanis, and Love Inc. He also served his church faithfully as an elder, deacon, and treasurer many times over.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Hilda Oostdyk; stepmother, Helen Oostdyk; parents-in-law George and Eleanor Groot; sister, Lynn Berends; brother, William Oostdyk; brother-in-law, Jerry Groot; brother-in-law, Ray Cygan; sister-in-law, Connie Sherpenisse; daughter-in-law, Michele Oostdyk.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Oostdyk; children Jim Oostdyk, Doug (Cheryl) Oostdyk, Steve (Kristi) Oostdyk; grandchildren Logan (Danielle) Oostdyk, Alison (Andrew) Leach, Hannah Oostdyk, Ev Oostdyk, Brandon (Alyssa) Oostdyk, Katelyn (Keith) Borek, Jeffrey (Aryssa) Oostdyk, Ethan (Kerry) Oostdyk, Ryan (Stephanie) Oostdyk, Hailie (Austin) Roblyer, Elyssa (Michael) Mead; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Oostdyk; brother-in-law, Dick Berends; sister-in-law, Carol Oostdyk, brother-in-law, Don Sherpenisse; sister-in-law Barbara (Brian) Smits; sister-in-law Cozette Groot, sister-in-law Marilou Cygan; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A private family service will be held for Jim.
