On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, Joanne Marilyn Beute, age 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her parents Simon and Martha Burmania; and sister, Mary Walburg. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Beute. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Timothy (Angela) Beute, Karen (Kevin) Blain, Kristen (Randall) Haisma; grandchildren Brian (Amanda) Beute, Dana Beute (Travis Ewing), Josh Beute (Becky Chicklon), Joe Beute (Anna Mettler), Natasha Beute, Jamie (Ryan) Kloosterman, Kari (Abel) Nieto, Kate (Nick) VanderWeele, Becky (Teddy) Lang, Ana (Connor) Chapin, Beth Haisma (Ben Minnema), Jessica Haisma (Charlie Wait); 18 great-grandchildren; siblings Bob (Kathy) Burmania and Carol (Stu) Issenhoff; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Joanne was a Mercy Central School of Nursing RN graduate who worked at Spectrum Butterworth for years as a postpartum nurse. Sundays were special days as family would gather after church for coffee, Coke, and peanuts. She always had cookies or banana bread for dessert and was known to stand at the door talking and waving to all the visitors until they pulled out of the driveway. Joanne and Bob spent many years traveling in their motorhome. She loved her family to pieces, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she called her “little sunshines” and brought her so much joy. She followed their ball games, choir concerts, and whatever else brought them together. She was a pillar of strength and an inspiration to all, and her legacy will continue to live on.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center (2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, Michigan 49315).
