John James Langkamp

John James Langkamp, age 69, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 surrounded by his family. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Alice Langkamp. Johnny will be deeply missed and always cherished by his sister, Starlin Sherwood (Todd Zaccanelli); brother, Grant Langkamp (Darla); special cousins Becky Swartz (Barry), Deb Poniatowski (Tom), and Becci Foreman (Mike); as well as many more cousins, special friends, and his Congo African Grey Parrot, Moe.

Johnny was committed to the Lord, his family, his friends, and the United States Marine Corp. Johnny lived his life as a proud marine - "Semper Fi." Johnny was a hard worker his entire life and no matter what task was put in front of him, he did his best to complete it to perfection. He was a kind and gentle soul and even on his worst days when his body was failing him, Johnny always asked what he could do to help others. He was never afraid to be himself and his unique character has given us all so much laughter and joy over the years and has left us with many stories to share.

A funeral / memorial service will be held from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from (the service will begin promptly at 1:00), at the American Legion, Post #305, 9548 Cherry Valley, Caledonia, MI 49316. Please join us for lunch after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice, 8214 Pfeiffer Farms Drive SW, Byron Center, MI 49315.
