Lorena M. Boersma (Nickels) passed away peacefully January 15, 2025 at the age of 95. She is now reunited with her husband of 65 years, Harry; her sons Francis and Kenny Boersma; and two grandchildren Lisa Boersma and Andrew Crooks.
She was the youngest and last living of the Nickels family. Lorena is survived by her children Robert (Shelly) Boersma, Christine (Jeff) Kik, Lori (Charles) Fortuin, Rosemary (Steve) Williams, Bernadette (Dan) Meeuwenberg, and Jean Miller-Wagner; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sam Boersma; and her close friend, Linda Sova.
Mass of Christian Burial will commence 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, Thursday, January 23, 2025 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. In honor of Lorena and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice. Interment will be at St. Sebastian Cemetery.
