Lorna E. Miller, age 100, entered into the arms of her Savior Friday, March 24, 2023. Lorna grew up in Byron Center, Michigan where she attended Byron Center Public Schools. She played varsity basketball and earned her “B” letter. She was a lifelong member of the Byron Center United Methodist Church and cherished her faith. Later in life, she moved to Florida and celebrated her 100th birthday.
Lorna was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Nelson Miller; grandson, Kyle Lieffers; and siblings Ilah Terpstra, Merle France, Wilma Mulder, Lloyd France, and Doris Biesbrock. She will be deeply missed by her children Linda Miller, Laura (Roger) Verstay; granddaughters Keri (Tyson) Hillard, Jenine Verstay, Jodee Verstay; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Lorna’s life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Byron Center United Methodist Church, 2490 Prescott St. SW, Byron Center. Lorna will be laid to rest in the family plot at Winchester Cemetery in Byron Center, Michigan. In memory of Lorna and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Halifax Hospice of Florida or Byron Center United Methodist Church.
