Obituary of Pamela Sue Brower
On Monday, August 8, 2022, Pam Brower, age 63, went to be with her Lord and Savior after a two year battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Cornie and Patsy DeLaat. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Jim Brower; her children and grandchildren Jason and Sarah (Madilyn, Mason) Brower, and Dawn and Travis (Aurora) Knapp; siblings Cheryl Griffin, Rick (Ashley) DeLaat, Merrie (Jared) Herron; in-laws Luanne (Dave) Deater, Gary (Sherrie) Brower; nieces and nephews Stephanie and Michael (Allysia, Jake, Allanah, Brooklyn) Brandt, Mackenzie Griffin, Makayla (Jordan) and Taylor DeLaat, Jayden and Trenton Herron, Angela and Ian (Holland) Paull, Erin and Tim Delaney, Rylee, Jarek, Jaden, Jordan Brower. Pam worked as a computer programmer for Sysco Frostpack and X-rite for a number of years, before she transitioned to a stay-at-home mom with Jason and Dawn. She then started her second career as a paraprofessional for Wyoming Public Schools. She worked for Wyoming Schools for over 20 years. Pam was also the volleyball scorekeeper for Wyoming Park and Wyoming HS. She was also the girls and boys basketball scorekeeper at Wyoming HS for a number of years. She had an incredible passion for working with kids and she loved every minute of her work at Wyoming Schools. Pam had a huge dedication and love for her family. She was the ultimate team parent for Jason and Dawn. She supported her nieces and nephews in all of their activities, and she absolutely loved every second she spent with her three grandchildren. Thank You to Dr. Gribbin and his great staff at Lacks Cancer Center. Thanks to Dr. Joel Phillips and his staff at Hauenstein Neurological Center, and the wonderful nurses at H3 Hauenstein. Special thank you to the great people at Mary Free Bed, especially Pam’s therapists Maggie and Adam, and our Faith Hospice nurses and doctors. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at The ROCK at First Reformed Church of Byron Center, 2464 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 at First Reformed Church of Byron Center, 8425 Byron Center Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to service. The service will be performed by pastor Andy Bossardet and Melanie Kilgore. Lunch will follow at The ROCK. The service will be streamed on the FRCBC YouTube channel. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Pam, contributions may be made to the children's ministries at FRCBC or Wyoming High School Athletic Boosters.
