

Richard Popma, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Richard was preceded in death by Donna and Donald Popma, Renee Al-Eisa, and Kim Havens. He was a big-time golfer, a card player, a phenomenal woodworker, and a great family man. He loved his children and his grandchildren with all his heart. He loved playing pranks, being loud, and making lots of noise.
He impacted many lives through the years. He was highly skilled with woodworking and making furniture for the people he cared for in his life. He was a hardworking, caring, and loving man. He will be missed by so many. He was always there for everyone, and you could always count on him, no matter what.
He survived by his wife, Lori; children Jessica, Joshua, and Tiffany; grandchildren Tyler and Kayla, Alexis and Austin, Jacob, Janessa, Claire, Ella, and Aria; siblings Debra, Patti and Gary, Khaled, Cindy, Terri, Don & Ilse, Tim and Carol, Ron and Chris, Larry and Laura; mother-in-law, Keitha Kramer; brothers- and sisters-in-law Joe and Heather, Denise and Tom, Kim and Chris, Tammy and Scott, Leonard and Donna, and Doug Tubergen.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m., at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, Michigan 49315.
