Bob had an excellent sense of humor and a happy and friendly personality. Anyone he met instantly became a friend of Bob! He was an avid bowler, family man, and servant of his Lord. He was a longtime member at Woodward Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a front door greeter. Bob was an avid sports fan, closely following his Tigers, Lions, and U of M, as well as each of his grandkids’ sporting events. He retired from the Kent County Sheriff's Office as a Lieutenant after 27 years of service. Most importantly, Bob was an avid family man and loved time spent with his wife, kids, grandkids, family, and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Bob will be remembered by his children Pam (Dav) Brott, Scott (Christine) Berg, Bonnie (Rick) Fassett, Steve (Jen) Berg, and Brian Berg; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings Don (Sharon) Berg, Larry (Dawn) Berg, Luanne Cunningham; sister-in-law, Roxanne Berg; brother-in-law, Wendel Haight; and many extended relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Berg; siblings David Berg, Valerie Haight; and sister-in-law, Jacqueline Murray.
