Robert “Bob” Lee Neff, age 77 of Dorr, walked into the loving arms of our Lord on Sunday, July 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Gladys (Dykstra) Neff. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathleen; daughters Nicole (Richard) VanNest, Sharae (Chris) Kaas; grandchildren Malyn (fiance, Tyler Armentrout) Ellens and Oliver Kaas; and many extended family and friends.
Bob served his country in the US Army from 1967-1969 during the Vietnam War. He was employed by VanLaan Concrete Corporation for 48 years. Bob was the assistant fire chief for the Dorr Fire Department and had 29 years of service with the department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting sports. His attention to detail was evident in his meticulously maintained cars and manicured lawn, and he enjoyed tinkering in his barn with his devoted golden retrievers Bozley, Wrigley, and Doris Day.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1871 136th Ave. Dorr, with Fr. Adams Celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW Byron Center, and from 9:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30 at Cook Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Faith Hospice, or Dorr Fire Department.
