It is with profound sadness and a broken heart that I announce the peaceful passing of my beloved father, Robert Marvin Schenck, who passed away in his sleep on Monday, August 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and the grace of God.
Dad was a hard-working, kind, loving, and considerate man who dedicated his life to his family and the people he loved. He was a man of strong faith who trusted in God and tried to live his life with kindness, compassion, and humility. His gentle heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family were gifts that will remain with us forever.
He was the kind of dad who didn’t need to say much to let you know how deeply he cared. His love was shown through the things he did, the sacrifices he made, and the steady presence he offered to those around him. He worked hard throughout his life and took great pride in providing for and caring for his family.
To me, he was so much more than a father. He was a source of strength, comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love. The memories I have of him–his smile, his voice, his stories, and the countless little moments we shared–will be treasured in my heart forever.
Though my heart is broken by his passing, my family and I find comfort knowing that Dad is now at peace, free from pain, and resting in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. We know that this is not goodbye forever, but only goodbye for now.
Dad leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, kindness, and family that will continue through all of us who were blessed to know and love him.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Until we meet again, Dad, I love you.
Bob is preceded in death by wife, Rose Marion Schenck; parents Marvin and Angeline Schenck; and stepsons Eric and Paul Zylema. He will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Christiana (Robert) Henning; granddaughters Taylor Henning, Haize Ergang, and Kaitlyn Ergang; and stepsons Mark (Mary) Zylema, John (Nancy) Zylema, and Rocky (Barb) Zylema; and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
